We have decided to visit Budapest for tree days and we found small hotel in Pesta. We did not plan carefully our trip and therefore we was not quite sure what to do and were to go.All me knew its seeing Buda part of the city which is rich of history and has nice places to visit.
It was raining and we walked along Danube river to find some cafes to have a cake after we put our bags aside. Most of Pesta does not have too much to offer as most of the cafes are with old 1980s look.Than we went to the Ethnographic museum to see the national costumes and the art gallery. After we walked to the Fisherman bastion which is just near St Matthias church in the castle distinct. You can quite well see also the kings palace. The city its with distinctive Secession and Art deco architecture and very colorful tilled roofs. The metal work around the doors and the frames of the windows its a piece of art and very specific for that part of Europe.
Its designed by Frigues Schulek and its combining Neo- Romanesque and Neo-Gothic style of architecture. The city is visited by many foreigners and a good destination to enjoy lovely Hungarian food and good mix of Art Nouveau architecture with modern one.We have found a very good offer for a budget travel with airplane to the capital of Hungary.Half of the city around the main train station is dark and very scary at night covered with monumental buildings.
The city has fantastic glass work examples and staircases making the past soviet regime. At the centre of city also was a small concert of a local Hungarian band playing outside. At night Budapest its fantastic and has really warm appearance. There is many Catholic churches to visit( with nice vitrage works on them) and also the basilica St Stephen is great landmark of the city..The backyards of the city are full of plants and also has grand walkside balconies. The outdoor cafes are really welcoming and have nice design. Most of the time was raining really and we did walk trough Budapest quite difficult.Just on the third day we got the sun out.
Then during 2008 I had a small trip with friend to Seget town near the border with Romania and spend in there a day out.It is situated on a river Tisa.It is a home of a paprika arrived in second half of a 16 century in Hungary. It is vivid and beautiful town.Half way between Budapest and Seget it is town of Keshkemet which is European Unesco architectural heritage. It is small but with lovely centre and big shopping mall.

Seget
Seget its the third largest city in Hungary and it is one of the lovely places to visit with lots of mineral basins. It is situated on a river of Tisza.
I have spent two days twice with friend in there. The restaurants are lovely and the center of town is much of a excitement to see.
It was administrative center of Ottomans. This is the paprika Center of Hungary.Paprika has arrived in the second half of the century. The town its connected with the activity of Laiush Coshut.

Budapest suburbs
Suburbs of Budapest are lovely! On my way back to Bulgaria I had to stay one night in small town near Budapest called BudaOrs. It has population of 2700 citizens. You can get by bus and it is just 20 min from the center of Budapest.
It is near the hill covering Budapest. It is higher then the capital. The streets are covered with walnut trees, maples, apple trees, ceders -atlantica, willows and hortenzias. The pub in the center of town its really worth to visit. Most of the houses are painted with red and blue. There is also wooden houses but very few really. It was great experience for me to see so many interesting plants around.I had small dish of chicken with topped cheese and also glass of beer and went sleeping. |
