Bulgaria Sofia 2013
This is my home town Sofia where I live more than 20 years. Now a day has open many new shops with good display , new malls and administrative quarters for work that has been developed in Sofia the last 10 years. The malls are offering everything that you want. All tough very small the capital is charming place for going out and shopping. There are many new cafes and restaurants in the center some of them with crazy and unique interiors. Has been opened many boutique shops for gifts and cloths on a very good prices. You can find everything you need. Most of the center of the city its covered with soviet monumental architecture.Such as the building of the main shopping center and also couple of other administrative buildings.
Ofcorse my favorite part its old Sofia with very much French and Austrian architecture, and some inner gardens attached to the buildings and lots of animals that browse around quite unusual for European capital really.
Sofia its slick and you can see some nicely dressed people on the streets passing all the time.
On my site you can see some of my favorite bars and pubs and also new build buildings that I like.
Most of my memories in Sofia are connected with going out to clubs, outdoor concerts in a small places and good drinking of cup of tea with people that I know.
There are many places that you can feel cozy and takes your mind out of any problems. The good variety of food its essential for good time that you spend and brings the nice mood into the company. There is big culture of visiting sneak bars and small aperitif places for chatting and reading newspapers.
Sofia its also famous with the most interesting Interiors sometimes very eclletique and unusual.Bulgarians like luxury and big spaces to live in.They do like to
travel a allot and there for to create spaces of living full of memories of the places that they have visited.

Main living environment in Sofia
Most of the block towers was build during 1970s and 1980s in the last century.
In is good example of Soviet architecture and urban development as allows many people from the small towns to integrate well in the capital and live in there. The are old now and are crumbling under the time. Most of them are not painted and therefore difficult to preserve. Most of 80 percent of the city are build like this. There is ongoing project for renovation and bringing to life Sofia again. Some of them are covered with large graffiti and the gardens in front of them are a bit neglected, but in most of the arias there is big shopping places and many cafes During the last seven years has been developed many news mall blocks with unusual shape and nicely painted in bright red and yellow colors with fantastic large balconies made with still and nicely decorated grids and also glass roofs.I do live in old block in the suburbs of Sofia.Living in the suburbs of Sofia during 80s wasn't fun indeed. Most of my friends left the city and started a new life in USA in a different places. With some of them I have lost connection long ago. This one left in town I don't see or I don't know how to find anymore. Big percent of my time I have spend in creative work and joining friends to theater performances and also going to concerts. |

Most of my precious time was spend in one lovely house with Chinese design studding History and writing of China ..........It was short course of two years giving me a breaf idea of the background of the country .I used to be very good and I have enjoyed to write with ink and to learn the very old principals of Chinese writing. The written Chinese uses Chinese characters (汉字 / 汉字 pinyin: hànzì), which are abbreviations: each symbol represents sememas and semantic classes or morpheme (a meaningful piece of language) and one syllable; written language can thus be defined as a morpheme-syllabic script. Chinese characters change with time of the earliest forms. The idea that all Chinese characters are either pictographs or ideographs is wrong: most characters contain phonetic parts, and are combined with phonetic components and semantic roots. Only the simplest characters, such as ren 人 (human), zha 日 (sun), shan 山 (mountain), Shui 水 (water) may be entirely pictographic origin. In 100 AD, the eminent scientist Sue Shen (许慎, Xǚ Shèn) of the Han Dynasty classified characters into six categories, namely pictographs, simple ideographs, compound ideographs, phonetic borrowings and derivatives complex phonetic characters. Of these, only 4% are pictograms, and 80-90% are phonetically complex, consisting of a semantic element that carries meaning, and a phonetic element that indicates the pronunciation. There are about 214 roots recognized in the dictionary Kangxi, giving semantic meaning.
Modern characters are styled in the standard alphabet . Many other written styles are also used in East Asian calligraphy, including graphic style (print) , italic (casually letter) and graphic style (clerical letter) . Artists calligraphers can write both traditional and simplified characters, but most prefer the traditional.
There are currently two systems for Chinese characters. The traditional system, still used in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau, derived from standardized forms dating back to the Han Dynasty. Simplified system was developed by the PRC mainland China in 1954 in order to increase mass literacy. In her most complex traditional glyphs are simplified to a few bars, many others to forgive caoshu shorthand versions synonymous with many characters.
Singapore, which has a huge Chinese community, is the first - and currently only - foreign nation which borrowed simplified characters, although in practice they have become a standard even for younger ethnic Chinese in Malaysia. Internet provides a platform that can be used an alternative system, be it traditional or simplified.
A well-educated Chinese today recognizes approximately six to seven thousand characters; to read a newspaper from mainland China you require about three thousand of them. The PRC government defines literacy among workers as a knowledge of two thousand characters, although that literacy can be quite functional. A large full dictionary as Kangxi, contains over forty thousand characters, including obscure dialect and archaic characters; today they are used only one quarter. It is often cited that Chinese is made up of an “alphabet” of 214 characters. It’s not surprising that people who compare the number of Chinese radicals to our 26 letter alphabet get scared. But actually, comparing Chinese radicals to letters just makes no sense. It is true that every character is formed with one of these radicals as a base, but in many ways radicals are more comparable to English stem words than the alphabet. And English has hundreds, possibly thousands of stem or root wordsFurthermore, every character in Chinese is composed of 8 basic strokes. From the “dot”, to the “hook” and “hat”, these strokes are used as the building blocks of the hundreds of thousands of characters that exist in modern Chinese.
But the most important truth of the matter is that neither of these comparisons matter. There is no equivalent to the Roman alphabet in Chinese calligraphy. This means that to succeed, beginners need to look at this learning process as more like learning the art of pictorial storytelling than learning to write a language.

Sofia its also a very spiritual place to visit.Has many people practicing Acupuncture and also many other Asian practices to help the immune system and the body to relax and rest better.During year of 1999 I have took a brif one month course of Saionji. The hall was nice and very clean and full of people that had a interest of it.
Called "Devine Japanese massage - Yumeiho" of professor Masayuki Saionji. It includes elements from manual therapy and influences on different receptive fields of limbs and joints. Main task in this therapy is to correct and maintain proper position of the pelvis and spine, to increase flexibility of the limbs by expending the range of motion. Both Raiki and Saionji I do use only for myself really and I don't practice. |

Vitosha mountain its one of the most beautiful mountains in Bulgaria. Its just near the capital Sofia were I live.
For many years I do make long walks with my mum from village of Jelezniza till Bistriza village were i had some friends and we do usually stop at the sweet shop to have Tonic water and also some cake after we have been walking so long.
Most of the way its covered with ferns,рelms and birches. You can see the colorful slops of the mountain. There is also lots of herbs which you can see such as sumac, dog rose and thyme.I took the photographs of other side as I have never done photos of this place. It is one of the best memories that I have with my mum.
Immediately to the south of Sofia Vitosha rising dome of one of the most beautiful and popular Bulgarian mountains. Corps mountain is surrounded on all sides by valleys (fields). To the north it extends Sofia valley (550 m. Asl) west - Pernik Valley (750 m. Asl) and south - north-west periphery of Samokov field (1000 m. Nadm.v.). Boundaries of mountain are relatively well defined except those valleys and saddles, as well as the villages at the foot and situated in ring road - Marchaevo, Vladaia, Knjazhevo, Boyana, Boyana, Boyana, Bistrica, rail, Yarlovo Bosnek, Kladnitsa. In the outlined area of the mountain range amounts to 278 km2.
Vitosha Mountain is the only dome in Bulgaria. The dome is formed from its highest peaks, located close to each other - Cherni and Reznyovete. The mountain is slightly pulled to the northwest - southeast, and the highest peak - Cherni (2290 m), rises in its center.
Stone rivers (sea) are Vitosha mountain charm and typical landscape Vitosha is inseparably connected with them, the more we can admire them in all seasons of godinata.Te represent accumulations of huge stone blocks syenite with different size and shape, but common among them is their roundness. roundness. Some are large up to 4-5 meters in diameter (sometimes more) and weigh up to 30-40 tons. These rock cairns fill valleys and flowing water bubbling hidden deep beneath them. Especially expressive and beautiful they are in the watershed of the river Vladayska.
The climate of the mountain is varied and has its specific features. Continental character is manifested in significant fluctuations in temperature in winter and summer, with May-Junes maximum precipitation. Overall Vitosha no avalanche danger, but there are several places, such as the area of the chimney, which is dangerous in the winter. Strong, violent and sometimes devastating winds are not uncommon in the mountains.
The high attractiveness of the mountain contributes diverse vegetation cover. Environmental conditions have created opportunities for the development of rich vegetation. Almost half of the higher plants are found in Bulgaria, can be found in the mountains - they are about 2700 species.

Located 3 kilometres (1.9 miles) south of the capital Sofia's neighbourhood of Dragalevzi, Dragalevtsi Monastery was established by Tsar Ivan Alexander (r. 1331–1371) in 1345 at the time of the Second Bulgarian Empire. The monastery was first mentioned in the books for Vitosha mountain issued before 1382 by Tsar Ivan Shishman (r. 1371–1395). The charter granted lands and tax exemptions to Dragalevtsi Monastery, including ownership of the village of Novachene.
After Sofia fell to the Ottomans in 1382, the monastery was disbanded and its buildings destroyed. It was rebuilt in the second half of the 15th century with the financial support of local feudal lord Radoslav Mavar and rapidly developed into a repository of Bulgarian cultural records. In 1612, while staying at Dragalevtsi Monastery, the monk Job Kasinets from Timoshoara wrote the Boyana Beadroll, a list of medieval Bulgarian rulers. The document shows the extent to which medieval rulers were remembered in 17th-century Bulgarian lands. Other manuscripts completed in this period at the monastery's scriptorium include Priest Nicholas' Gospel of 1469, the Dragalevtsi Gospel of 1534 and a psalter finished in 1598. |
